Disney’s ‘Teen Beach Movie 2′ A Go

Stars Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell, Grace Phipps, Garrett Clayton and John DeLuca will reprise their characters from last year’s Disney Channel Original Movie Teen Beach Movie for a sequel that Disney has scheduled for a 2015 broadcast premiere. The first pic, about two surfing teen lovebirds who get transported into a 1960s beach flick, is the #2 most viewed movie in cable history in total viewers and popped out a soundtrack that hit #1 on the Billboard soundtrack charts. The sequel will follow the setup teased in the final scenes of Teen Beach Movie as modern day teens Mack and Brady get a real world visit from Lela, Tanner, Butchy, and other surfer and biker pals from the beach party pic within a pic, Wet Side Story. Filming stars in July under director Jeffrey Hornaday, who also helmed and choreographed the first film. Teen Beach Movie 2 is scripted by original TBM scribe Robert Horn (Designing Women, Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure), Dan Berendson (Hannah Montana The Movie, Wizards of Waverly Place), and Matt and Billy Eddy (Zapped) Michelle Manning and David Buelow are exec producing.
