Full of naked people, foam and rock stars, basically.

It was originally a series of festivals, which ran for three years until 1970 – when over 600,000 people came to enjoy the festivities, surpassing the attendance of the iconic Woodstock festival by an astonishing 200,000.

It proved so popular in fact that by 1971 Parliament had to introduce "The Isle of Wight Act", which prevents any large events for 5,000 people or more taking place on the island without a licence.
