A few days after Fox broke a domestic box office record for its highest-grossing year ever, Fox International has now set a new industry benchmark for box office earned in a calendar year. With a cume so far of $3.254B, the studio division says it has bested previous record-holder Paramount and its 2011 $3.21B haul. Fox's domestic take crossed $1.5B on October 19; including Fox Searchlight, the figure is $1.62B through October 27.
